GET THE WHOLE PICTURE

Beyond the work

When working with someone, you don't always get the whole picture of who they are until you spend some time with them. My interests are diverse. I love to play. I love how hobbies and interests can make you better at your "job." I love building culture and community. And I love to play as hard as I work.

Co-Rec

Softball

Circle Trees & The Siempervirens

The last couple of years at Mount Hermon, I saw potential for a culture building opportunity in signing Mount Hermon up for a Co-Rec softball league. I had heard about leagues starting in the past and not succeeding. I realized that the past teams became more about winning than community building and I set out to change that. I wanted everyone who wanted to play could. We held practices and casted the vision before every game. It was and is highly successful (in the culture building department). It was so "successful" that we had to add another team from Mount Hermon in the same league.

Improv Comedy

On the Spot

I've been doing improv on and off since college. In 2017, I wanted to dive in deeper with this craft. I had never had any formal training, I was literally shooting from hip and hoping it would land. Training with ComedySportz in San Jose has given structure and fundamentals to this craft I love. Improv unlocks my creativity unlike anything else—weaving storytelling, connection, and laughter together. Now, I am a regular main stage performer with ComedySportz San Jose and love every minute of it.

The

The Moth: True Stories Told Live

I come by storytelling genetically. I have vivid memories of my dad in front of our fireplace with a room full of people hanging on his every word. His cadence, his pacing, his comedic timing, were unmatched. The moth is the first podcast on my list every week. I've had a chance to tell stories at a couple of them. I even hosted a story slam at a Mount Hermon event. Stories are what make the world go round. Hearing them live and told well, takes it to another dimension.

Star

Wars

In a Galaxy Far, Far, Away...

Everyone has the thing that they're into... mine is unashamedly Star Wars. The characters, the creativity, the story lines, the struggle of the balance of the force, all resonate deeply with me. Star Wars has found its way into my every day life. Subtly and sometimes, not so subtly.

Geocaching

The World to Explore

Best way to explore a city? Geocaching. Best way to see with new eyes a trail you've been on a 100 times before? Geocaching. It's a great way to explore without wandering. I'll admit, I don't always find the cache, but I love the trails and the journeys it's taken me on. Things that are always in my car? Stuff for geocaching and a hammock.
